Shipping and Lead Times – Shipping and lead times vary by product. Lead times are typically listed on each product page. Many standard items ship out within one week, with an additional 2 weeks added in for custom numbers and/or engraving. Shipping times are usually 2-5 business days, depending on the size of the order and the delivery location. Expedited shipping (1-2 days) is available for many of our products for an extra charge. Please contact us at 833-929-6245 or by email at sales@mailboxworld.com to obtain an expedited shipping quote or if you have additional shipping questions.
Shipping Costs – We use item weight and delivery location to determine the shipping costs for the majority of our products. The shipping cost we extend to our customers is a real-time shipping rate and is not marked up. Once you input the delivery address on the checkout page, the shipping price for your order will be calculated. Many of our competitors advertise “free shipping”, only to have a higher shipping rate included in the total product price. All orders over $10,000.00 will receive free shipping for all products in that order shipping to a single location.
Tracking Information – Once an order ships out, the tracking information will be emailed to the email address provided at checkout. This will provide you a link where you can follow the progress of your delivery.

Delivery Information – Smaller orders are usually shipped by FedEx, while larger orders are shipped by common freight carrier (XPO, YRC, Holland, Old Dominion). Orders can be shipped to both commercial and residential addresses.

  • Free Liftgate Service – While most of our competitors charge for this service, we offer free liftgate delivery for large item orders (weighing over 75lbs).
  • Delivery Appointments will be scheduled by the freight company and a signature will be required for most freight orders.
  • Inspect for Damage – When accepting a delivery, please look over the item(s) being received to ensure no damage has occurred during transit. If boxes are in poor condition or have any visible punctures, please open the unit and verify there is no damage to that unit. If there is damage to your order, note the damage on the delivery receipt prior to signing. Please email pictures of all damage to us at sales@mailboxworld.com within 48 hours of delivery. We are unable to process any damage claims with the carrier after 48 hours. Depending on the amount of damage, a partial credit may be offered, or a replacement unit sent out.

USPS Regulations and Next Steps

Cluster Mailboxes – All of the cluster mailboxes sold by Mailbox World are pre-approved by the USPS for outdoor, centralized mail distribution. If you are installing cluster mailboxes for the first time, or wish to change the location, you should contact your local post office to discuss an approved site location. Before removing any existing cluster mailboxes, please contact USPS to remove their master (arrow) locks from the units. Provide your local USPS with the date of the new cluster mailbox installation and they will then come out and install the master (arrow) locks on each of the new units.*Please note, effective 2020, USPS regulations now require 1 parcel locker for every 5 mailbox doors. If the cluster mailbox(es) you are planning to purchase do not meet that ratio, we advise purchasing extra stand-alone parcel lockers to get you to compliance. If you do not have the required number of parcel lockers, USPS may require you to purchase additional parcel lockers in the future. In some cases, USPS may not enforce this requirement or may approve less parcel lockers. Please contact your local USPS to see if they will make an exception to this requirement.

4C Mailboxes – Below is an overview of the 4C mailbox regulations. Please contact your local USPS to discuss an approved location for your new 4C mailboxes. Once you have received a location approval, you should inform USPS of the date the new mailboxes will be installed. Once installation is complete, USPS will then come out and put their master (arrow) locks on the new 4C units.Effective October 5, 2006, all new designs approved for NEW CONSTRUCTION AND MAJOR RENOVATION require U.S. Postal Service STD-4C compliant mailbox systems.  The new USPS-4C Standard includes the following specifications:

  • A new minimum size requirement for mailboxes (12″W x 15″D x 3″H).
  • A parcel locker requirement based on a 1:5 parcel locker to customer compartment ratio (effective July 2020).
  • Strengthens security requirements for the units.
  • Standardizes and improves tenant compartment lock design.
  • Adds testing requirements to verify acceptability for either indoor or outdoor use.
  • Meets Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ARCHITECTS, SPECIFIERS, DESIGN LAYOUT PROFESSIONALS AND INSTALLERS –

Installation/Layout Instructions specified in USPS Standard 4C – pages 53821-53832 of the above referenced USPS 4C Standard “Notes” sections specify:

All 4C Units shall be designed such that they are in compliance with the following installation requirements:

  1. The floor of the lowest patron mailbox shall be no less than 28″ above the finished floor (AFF).
  2. The patron lock in the highest mailbox shall be no more than 67″ above the finished floor.
  3. The USPS Arrow lock (master door lock) opening must be a minimum of 36″ and a maximum of 48″ above the finished floor.
  4. The floor of the lowest parcel locker shall be no less than 15″ above the finished floor.
  5. The master access door(s) must be allowed to open a minimum of 90 degrees with no obstruction.
  6. There must be at least one parcel locker for every (5) five patron mailboxes in installations of (5) five or more patron mailboxes. There is no requirement for parcel lockers in installations of less than (5) five patron mailboxes, but one or more parcel lockers are recommended.
4B Vertical and Horizontal Mailboxes – Both 4B vertical mailboxes and 4B horizontal mailboxes are USPS approved only when being used to replace the same style of existing mailboxes. This should not affect the existing rough opening of the wall and the wall should not be modified to accept the new 4B mailboxes. For major renovations, 4C mailboxes or cluster mailboxes are required.
ADA Mailboxes – Mailboxes that have the bottom door installed between 28” and 48” are ADA at ADA approved heights. Most installations require a minimum of 5% of mailbox doors being at ADA heights, although some installations may require 100% ADA compliance.
